A Living Stone

Jesus Our Cornerstone

For it stands in Scripture: Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame (1 Peter 2:6). Jesus Christ is our living stone. Those who believe in him will not be put to shame. As you come to him, the living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:4) Christians, those that believe in Jesus Christ, are and should be so closely identified and united with Christ that the very life that exists in Christ exists in us also. Our lives should exhibit God honoring works, because of Christ in our lives, under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of the word of God. We, as his children, are chosen and precious in the sight of God because of Jesus Christ. What glorious love our Savior has for us but to lay down his own life for us.
LORD, with a humble heart I come before you today. My heart is overwhelmed by your goodness and mercy. Through the pages of Scripture you make yourself known by the Holy Spirit to those whom love you. Thank you for your wonderful works. I pray for those who do not, yet, know you as their savior to ask you into their hearts today. While it is still called today, I pray they soften their hearts toward you.. I pray that we do not harden our hearts but allow the scales to fall from our eyes. For tomorrow is not promised. As long as I have the breath of life within me I will proclaim of your goodness, grace, and mercy. As long as I live I will proclaim you as my LORD and Savior. Thank you for Jesus Christ. Thank you for the Holy Spirit. Thank you God for making a way for the lost to come back to you. It is in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
