Ephesians 5:14 states; "Awake, O sleeper and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Paul, in his brief but to the point invitation, extended an invitation to those who were not yet believers in Jesus Christ. The invitation to salvation so that we may be transformed from children of darkness to children of God's holy light. Meditate on that. The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. (Proverbs 4:18) The path of the believer is one of increasing light, just as a sunrise begins with the faint glow of dawn and proceeds to the splendor of noonday. Slow down and take in the beauty of the sunrise today. O, the gandor of its entrance. What display of magnificence to compare the holy light of God that "we" as his children, by trusting and believing in Jesus Christ, are transformed, for we were once darkness stumbling around in the dark.
Lord I come to you today with a humble heart. I come to you with thanksgiving and praise for the beauty of your holiness that you give to us. What a beautiful grandor display you show us each morning to compare your holy light. For you formed the heavens and the earth with your very word. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for Jesus Christ who gave himself for us. Praise be to God for your wonderful work. Praise be to God for your grace poured out on us. O that the unbeliever would see the folly of their way and come to you today. It is in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
