Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve

Who or what takes first place in your life? Knowing what matters the most to you speaks volumes about your heart. To whom are we serving? 

Joshua called for the people to choose this day whom they will serve (Joshua 24:15). Their hearts had been lead astray time and time again by the false gods of their fathers. But Joshua was making a plea for them to seek after the LORD GOD and not the false gods in which their fathers before them had forsaken the LORD to follow. Joshua's fatherly model was for his family to serve the Lord, He called them to put away the false gods of their fathers and to fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and faithfulness (Joshua 24:14) Joshua made a commitment to serve the LORD. He stated; "As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15). May we follow Joshua's example and serve the LORD with sincerity and faithfulness.  

Choose this day whom you will serve.

LORD, thank you for loving us. We ask for you to turn our hearts toward you to seek after you with sincerity and faithfulness. Search our hearts to see if there be any wicked way in us and cleans us. May we be pleasing in your sight. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen
