Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water (Hebrews 10:22).
We are invited to draw near to God and he will draw near to you (James 4:8). We can draw near to him with full and utter confidence because of the Holy Spirit's work in purifying our lives by the word of God. Jesus Christ is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:25) It is by His work on the cross that cleansed us and with full assurance of faith we can draw near to him.
The redeemed heart longs for communion with God. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23).
Lord, I come to you with a humble heart. Please forgive me where I have sinned and fallen short of your glory. I give praise and honor to you for opening my eyes to see your wonderful works. It is by you that Scripture lives in my heart and it is by you that I am able to draw near to you. For without your saving grace I would be lost among the lives of millions whose faith is in other god's of this world. My soul longs for and seeks holy communion with you. May the eyes of those around me, who may not realize the need for saving grace in their lives, be opened. May my actions and words be pleasing in your sight today. I lift my voice in praise and worship to the One true God. Thank you for making intercession for me for I do not know what to pray for. May it be a pleasing sound to your ears and a sweet aroma lifted to you. It is in Jesus name I pray, amen.
