Because Christ Prays for You

When you know that Christ prays for you, what does that mean to or for you?

Satan lives to condemn God's people. He wants to cause havoc and destruction so that they might turn from Christ and walk away from their faith. But Christ has prayed for you. In John 17 we read some of Jesus' prayer: "I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one" (v15) That little word "but" in His High Priestly prayer is so significant. "But keep them from the evil one". Even now, Christ lives to intercede for us. As Paul wrote, "Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died - more than that, who was raised- who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us". (Romans 8:34) He knows our temptations and weaknesses. He knows our flaws and failures. But be of good cheer, Christ has prayed for you. Therefore, nothing can separate us from His everlasting love for us. (Romans 8: 37-39)

I ask again, What does that mean to you when you know Christ is standing in intercession for you? Be of confidence today, knowing that you have the one who chose to take your punishment and mine, it is He that is standing in the presence of God for us.
