To be in Christ is an incredibly wonderful position to be in! His life becomes your life and our new identity is in Him.
Colossians 3:10-14 states; And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
When the Holy Spirit renews our minds, we are transformed to act like Christ. In Christ we are all beloved brothers and sisters. We are therefore called to live in a certain way as Paul reminds us of who we are: chosen, holy, and dearly loved. As such, we are to love one another. Not with mere feeling but as a choice we make. We have the power by the Holy Spirit to put away anything that dishonors Christ and put on the things to which brings him glory. May we devote ourselves to putting away and putting on until there is nothing left in you but what looks like Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Lord, I come to you today with a humble heart. May you forgive your servant for falling short of your glory. It is against you that I have sinned and in need of forgiveness. How wonderful are your words of truth. You are all, and in all. By your word we can know and learn how to live holy lives for your desire is to conform us to the image of Christ. May all that I do reflect your virtues. You love us with a greater love that none else can surpass. Thank you for Jesus Christ who gave all and for all. It is in Jesus precious name I pray, amen.
