Desires of My Heart

I Want to Know How to Be Lead by Christ

"I want to know how to walk. I want to know how to be lead by Christ." This struck a cord with me when listening to an Amish man and his wife as they pursued Jesus Christ. When questioning their families about Jesus, their response was; "If you continue down the road of pursuing this man, you will be excommunicated".

Here I am with the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the ability to worship Him openly and freely (for now) and what do I do with Him? How do I live my life? How do I share this wonderful news of the gospel with others? By my obedience or disobedience, I will be held accountable with those very questions when I stand before God of the whole creation.

So, what do you do with Scriptures such as 1 John 1:5-9? Which is one of the questions presented to this amish couples families, For it states: "This is the message we have heard form him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with hime while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth."

Therefore, how are we walking? Do we walk the walk or talk the talk? Something to ponder.

Lord, I come to You with a humble heart. Thank you for opening my eyes to see your wonderful works in Scripture. Thank you for saving me from my sin. For if it were not for Jesus Christ and him crucified, I would forever be separated from the love of God and eternal life with my Savior. It is in the precious name of Jesus Christ I pray, amen.
