DO-OVER

Is A Do-Over Possible?

Have you ever felt like you wanted to turn back time and just re-do life without all of the sin and mistakes you've made along the way? In amateur golf there is something called a "mulligan." Once per game, the golfer has an opportunity to do-over a bad shot. We aren't able to shout "mulligan" in life and do-over our bad choices and all of the sudden our mistakes and sin are gone. However, there is a way for a do-over. God offers you a re-do. He offers you something even better: He offers you a new life. This doesn't mean that God glosses over your past, but what it does mean is that he offers you His Son. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died to remove the guilt and stain of our sin. Because of this, God forgives!

We must be "born again" to receive God's offer of a do-over. John 3:3 states, "unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." (John 3:5). Unless we accept the Son of God, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior, we will not see or enter the kingdom of God.

To receive God's offer of being born again and having the opportunity of new life, one must let go of sin. Repent, ask for forgiveness, of our sin. Amit to God you are a sinner and ask Him to forgive you and put your faith in Jesus Christ. Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

There is no greater love than that which is offered for forgiveness than Jesus atonement for our sin. You can express your repentance and faith by praying something like this:

"Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died on the cross to forgive me of my sin. I repent of all the wrong I've done and ask You to forgive me. I now accept Your gift of eternal life. Thank You for Your love, forgiveness, and new life in Jesus Christ. From this day forward, I choose to follow You. In Jesus's name, Amen."

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. (John 3:16-18)
