Every Perfect Gift

God is Changeless

Every good and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change (James 1:17).

God is gracious to those who believe in the Son of God. His divine giving is adequate, complete, and beneficial. Our good gifts come from the Creator Himself. The celestial bodies may change with their phases of movement from day to night and rotation and even vary from intensity and shadow. However, God does not follow that pattern—he is changeless. God is light, and in him is no darkness at all (1John 1:5).

We serve an absolute and perfect God. Nothing exists in His character that impinges upon his truth and holiness. Let us rest in this truth. For every perfect and every good gift comes from Him.

Lord, I come to you with a humble heart. Thank You for forgiving me when I sin and fall short of Your glory for this in itself is a gift from God. You have given me life and life more abundantly. My heart is overwhelmed by Your goodness. In this life there will be troubles of every kind, but You have told us in Your Word, be of good cheer for You have overcome the world. I find strength and encouragement when I open the Bible and read the Scriptures. It is only from You and by You that I can stand. May heart rests in You and my soul knows fully the peace and comfort that can only come from You. Thank you for Jesus Christ who has taken away the sins of the world. May all that you have called, but have not responded, open their hearts to listen this day. Tomorrow is not promised. May our voice lifted to You in worship and prayer be pleasing to You. It is in Jesus precious name I pray, amen.
