Paul's Strengthening in Prayer for the Saints

Because Paul had heard of the faith the saints had in the Lord Jesus and the love toward all saints, he writes In Ephesians 1:15-23: I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to his working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at the right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Paul prayed for the saints to have the Spirit of wisdom, and the revelation in the knowledge of God. He prayed for the eyes of our heart to be enlightened. He prayed for us to know the hope to which we are called and the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints. Paul prayed that we would know the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe in his great might that is in Christ when he raised him from the dead. Paul prayed for us to know that, He, Christ, is seated at the right hand. He is far above all rule and authority and power and dominion. And his name is above every name, not only in this age but in the one to come.

Let this be our prayer for one another. Let us lift each other up knowing that our Lord is seated at the right hand of God. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all (vs. 22-23).

Lord, we come to You with a humble heart. Thank You for the Word which is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword. May You forgive me when I sin and fall short of your glory. We have been forgiven so much. Help us to see wondrous things from Your law for they are health and life and marrow to our very bones. Give us this day what we have need of and not what we want. May we ever keep Your Word as frontlets to our hearts and minds so that our desire is toward You. Thank you for Jesus Christ who has taken away the sins of the world and set us free. By Your stripes we are healed. It is in Jesus precious name I pray, amen.
