Peace that Surpasses All Understanding
The Apostle Paul writes: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard our hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
Even as believers, we are subject to anxiety and worry because we aren't exempt from the troubles of life. We are surrounded by troubles on every side. We too experience the loss of jobs, health, parents, and children. The list of our personal deep troubles could go on and on. We are even finding ourselves and the world in a global dilemma. It would be easy for us to be overwhelmed with a sense of worry on a personal level, as well as a corporate level. Christianity does not promise the removal of our problems. In fact, if you become a Christian, you may have a new set of problems because you are now living contrary to the world rubbing it the wrong way.
However, for the Christian, we have a supernatural peace that God gives to His children in the midst of the troubles of life. This peace cannot be explained apart from God Himself. God gives us His peace that surpasses all comprehension.
In every situation, every circumstance, every trial, and in every difficulty, bring it to the Lord in prayer.
