FORGIVENESS

Conflict Resolution

Peter asked Jesus how many times should we forgive others for sinning against us. Jesus' answer — Keep forgiving.

Matthew 18:21-22 "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times."

Sometimes forgiving others is the hardest thing we can ever do, especially when we fill we have been hurt or wronged in some way. Jesus gives us the prescription on the how and why to bring resolution to conflicts among fellow Christians. When we follow his plan the burden of bitterness and hurt is lifted and healing takes place within our hearts. When we love like Jesus loves we are set free. When we love others as Jesus loves we are abiding in his word. Just that first step in the Lord's plan would dramatically change our families and churches if we followed it. Be the one who takes the first step. You will be amazed at how freeing it will be if you have truly forgiven. Seek to restore relationships.

Lord, help us to seek to restore our relationships. Help us to humble ourselves and seek your will in our lives. We have been forgiven so much. Help us to forgive others in the same way we have been forgiven. You know what is best for us. What freedom we have when our hearts are restored. Thank you for giving us the prescription for healing. The healing that can only be restored through you. Thank you for loving us and forgiving us. It is in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
