Written For You
Have you ever wondered or contemplated that the Bible began in handwritten form? In Paul's closing words of Galatians 6:11, "See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand." We are reminded that in this digitalized world that we live in the pages of Scripture were not typed or printed by a machine; they were inspired words of God and handwritten for you and me.
The Bible is God's handwritten letter from His heart to ours. He authored Scripture and etched with his own fingers the 10 Commandments into stone on top of Mt. Sinai. (Exodus 34:1-2, Deuteronomy 10:1-2) With great care and intention, through men like Moses and so may others, God wrote His story for you and I. God the Spirit sits in the pages of Scripture, waiting for us to open it so He can meet with us there. When we open God's Word, we are literally meeting with God. His presence is there with us, teaching, reminding, convicting, encouraging, correcting and blessing us. If we never choose to open up the Word of God for ourselves and learn of Him, how will we ever truly know Him?
Take a moment and allow the following inspired Words of God to resonate in your heart.
"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God" (John 1:1).
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14).
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" ( 2 Timothy 3:16).
"...the name by which he is called is The Word of God" (Revelation 19:13).
Lord, we thank you that you chose to write with your own finger the commandments that guide our lives. You chose to give men the words to write about you so that we can meet with you through the pages of Scripture. I pray that we pour over Your Word and let it sink into our hearts so that we may live lives pleasing and honoring to you. Thank you for loving us. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
