Through prayer the Holy Spirit empowers us to stand in the evil day (Ephesians 6;10-18). We must guard our hearts. We must "guard the castle" one might say. If we do not keep up with the condition of the castle walls and maintain defense, we run the risk of being unprepared for the enemy's advance. We must protect it and defend it from the attempted onslaught of the enemy. We must do the work of surveillance so that we are aware not only of the schemes of the evil one but also of our own vulnerabilities. We must well stock our hearts defense. God's word is our defense and by the Holy Spirit we stand, resist, and we fight to keep our heart (Eph. 6:13).
Lord, I come to you with a humble heart. I come to you seeking forgiveness of my sin against you. May I be prepared for the day for which you have made for me. Help me to be mindful of the strength I have in you to fight against the troubles of this day. Help me to be mindful of your words of wisdom to combat the fiery darts that asle at every turn. You know the unseen world that wishes to slaugh your servant. May your hand of protection be ever around me. Help me to guard my heart and mind so that I do not sin against you. Thank you for Jesus Christ who took upon himself every sin past, present, and future. May my prayer please the Lord. May it be a sweet sound and pleasing aroma. I worship you my God and my Savior. I worship you! It is in Jesus name I pray, amen.
