Let Your Heart Take Courage

Wait for the Lord

In all your anxieties, wait for the Lord. Let your heart take courage. Be strong. Wait for the Lord. In Psalm 27, David waited upon the Lord. Troubles beset and remain, but David knows he must be constant. He fights fear with faith. David told his sorrow to God, and God lifted high his head. He had been forsaken by everyone, including his father and mother and he was afraid that God was about to forsake him too, yet still, he waited upon the Lord and the Lord lifted him up.

In summary of Psalm 27, wait, wait on the Lord as a beggar waits for alms at the rich man's door. Wait on the Lord. Wait at Jesus' feet. There, gazing on his beauty, your troubles and worries will grow small. There at his feet you will find courage to fight against all of your anxieties. David states in vs 13-14: I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
Lord, I come to you with a humble heart. Teach me your way O God of my salvation and lead me on a level path. Let my heart not be troubled because of the troubles that remain, for each day is full of its own. By your strength I wait for you. I give you my sorrow and you will lift high my head. O to wait at your feet and gaze at your beauty. How magnificent are your ways. Let not my heart wander away from you. Take my heart Lord, take and seal it. Tune my heart to sing thy grace. I give my praise and worship to you. It is in the precious name of Jesus my LORD and Savior I pray, amen.
