James 2:14 states; "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? How can we say we believe in God but show no mercy toward others or just give encouragement without offering any kind of assistance with their needs for survival. (James 2:16) People see how we act. What are our actions saying about what we know to be true in our hearts? What does a useless faith look like? Genuine faith is more than a good theology, it keeps moving forward toward to high calling set before us. Charles Spurgeon states it this way; "Faith and works are bound up in the same bundle. He that obeys God trusts God; and he that trusts God obeys God. He that is without faith is without works; and he that is without works is without faith."
Lord, help us to follow through on our commitments putting you first in our lives. We seek you first. Help us to live out our faith in such a way others see you in not only our words, but in our actions. Help us to humbly live our lives before you. Thank you for your love and your grace. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
