Spiritual Maturity

So Walk in Him

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him. (Colossians 2:6) Our daily life should be patterned after his. We are to walk rooted and built up in him and established in the faith (v.7).  As Christians, our lives should be rooted and built up in sound doctrine. To do this we must study the Word of God so that we may know the foundational truths of Christian doctrine. 

Continually feeding on the truths of Scripture is essential to the spiritual health of all Christians. 1 Timothy 4:8 states: ....train yourself for godliness, ...godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. As with an athlete we must train ourselves to study and live by the Word of God.  As a result, we will grow in spiritual maturity and so walk in Him.

LORD, I come to you today with a humble heart. Thank you for the truths found in Scripture so that I may walk in a manner pleasing to you. May I keep my feet firmly planted on the path that you have planned for me. May my life reflect Jesus Christ in all that I do. Forgive me when I fall and sin against you. Help me to pick myself back up so that I may continue the race toward the high calling. For I cannot do it on my own. It is in Jesus name I pray, amen.
