Spiritual Warefare

Do Not Be Afraid

Spiritual warfare is real. Daniels experience somewhat allows us to catch a glimpse of the unseen realm. The identity of the Persian king is not given, but the fact that it had withstood Gabriel for three weeks indicates it was another powerful being that tried to hinder the Lord's work.

Daniel. 10:10-13 states: "A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. he said, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you." And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling. Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.

Paul spoke of spiritual warfare between believers and those who oppose the Lord in Eph. 6:12. Spiritual warfare still exists today. We have the One and only God, the same God who help Daniel, who is willing to work on our behalf when we are fighting the battle. It is during this time that we are to use the Word of God, We are to quote it directly to the enemy and his forces. And it is by God's strength and by His Mighty Word we are able resist the devil, and he flees (James 4:7).

Lord, We come to you with a humble heart. We ask that you forgive us of our sin. If we have participated in anything that is contrary to Your Word, please forgive us. I fall on my knees before you today. Lord, open our eyes so that we do not sin against you. Give us the strength to fight the spiritual battles set before us. Help us to stand on our firm foundation found only in Jesus Christ. We have a spiritual battle to fight and it is only through Your strength we may endure to the end. It is in Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.
