He is Alive!

The tomb has been found empty; Jesus has been resurrected. The risen Lord makes several appearances to a number of His followers.

It was early dawn of the first day of the week when they went to the tomb to prepare Jesus' body with the spices. However, the women found the tomb empty. Being perplexed, there appeared to them two men dressed in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise." (Luke 24:1-7) And they remembered his words and told all these things to the eleven and all the rest. (Luke 24:9)

Peter rose and ran to the tomb, stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves, and he went home marveling at what had happened. (Luke 24:12)

Jesus appears to two men on the road to Emmaus
That very day two men were going to the village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. (Luke 24:13) While they were walking and discussing, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. And he said to them, "What is this conversation that you are holding with each other as you walk?" (Luke 24:1-17) Jesus went with the men to stay with them for the day was far spent. When Jesus was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. (Luke 24:28-31)

Jesus appears to His disciples.
As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace to you!" (Luke 24:36) He said to them, "See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see, For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." and when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?" They gave him a piece of broiled fish and he took it and ate before them. (Luke 24:39-43) Then he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. (Luke 24:44)

Much more can be said about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Scriptures shared today are only few in the accounts of our risen LORD and SAVIOR.  For the past eight days we have taken a journey through Jesus' last days here on earth with us. But he has not left us alone. For he told his disciples to "stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high". (Luke 24:49)

"And behold I am with you always to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20)

I pray that, in some small way, these last few days have been worth the read for you. I pray that if you haven't already sought Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the Scriptures shared from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday have helped you with making the most important decision in your life. For it is Life or Death we face after we take our last breath here on earth. Where will you spend your eternity? Will you but believe that he is the Son of God, He died on the cross for your sin and mine, He rose from the grave on the third day and is now seated at the right hand of God? Will you repent and turn to God or will you walk away? It is up to you.
