The Believers Armor

The Battle Lines are Drawn

Being victorious in the battle is a matter of putting on the armor of God. The Word of God gives us all of the equipment to be victorious for the battle we face each and every day of our lives. For we have a real enemy who seeks to destroy. Ephesians 6:13-18  tells us to put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the sheild of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

The battle lines are drawn, the trenches are being dug, and I am not going to be one of those caught shamefaced when our Commanding Officer returns. When the record is being reviewed, I want it written that the soldier in question, after repeatedly disobeying orders and going AWOL, during war-time alert, donned his armor, reported back to his Commanding Officer, fought courageously and fearlessly without batting an eye, and hit the enemy with everything he could get his hands on and inflicted heavy damage in strategic areas to the credit of his patient, forgiving Commanding Officer. (The Believers Armor page 210).

Lord, I come to you with a humble heart. I come before You and ask that you forgive me of my sin against You. I ask that you help me to keep my shield up as I walk through this day. And as I rise this morning, may I remember your mercies are new. I may fall, but You pick me up. You give me the strength to fight the good fight of faith and to finish the race set before me. I am victorious because You have already conquered the enemy. Thank you for Jesus Christ my Lord and my Savior who has taken away the sins of the world. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
