The Kingdom of Heaven

"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field." (Matthew 13:44)

This parable is a picture of salvation as something hidden from most people but to the one it has been given, it is so valuable they are willing to give up all they have to possess it. What a beautiful picture of the one who finds salvation and the excitement surrounded by it. God the Creator of all has given to us, by his grace, His Son. The treasure is Salvation in Jesus Christ and in him alone. Would you be willing to give up all you have for the Kingdom of God?

Lord, thank you for giving us your words of truth. Thank you for your gracious gift of salvation. Help those who may not see the need in their life for the repentance of sin. and a need for a savior, which is Christ the Lord. Thank you for loving us. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
