Unwavering Faith

No Unbelief Made Him Waver

No unbelief made him waver concerning the promises of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. (Romans 4: 20-21)

Abraham's faith was counted to him as righteousness because of his faith in God. God promised Abraham he would be the father of many nations even though he was about one hundred years old and Sarah was barren. In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told "So shall your offspring be." (v. 18)

What seems impossible with man is possible with God. (Matthew 10:26) Let us not waver in our faith when the things of God look as though they are impossible. Let us be fully convinced and believe and trust in God that he will fulfill his promises. As with Abraham, in hope he believed against hope, and fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. Therefore, it was counted to him as righteousness. The words "It was counted to him" were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification. (Romans 4:23-25). Let us be fully convinced and believe in the promises of God which gives glory to him. Let us run the race with strength and unwavering faith.

LORD, we come to you with humble hearts and unwavering faith because of your faithfulness to your children. Thank you for your promises written down for us in Scripture. Open our eyes to see your wondrous works. Forgive us were we have sinned and fallen short of your glory. May we give you praise because of your mercies against sinful man. Give me the strength Lord to continue the race to which I am set on. Be my guide and my shield. Help me to combat the fiery darts that are hurled at me each day of my life so that I do not sin against you. My heart seeks and thirsts for you. Without you I am lost without hope. It is in Jesus precious name I pray, amen.
