Seeking God's Wisdom During Trials

Scripture tells us in the Book of James 1:5-8, if we lack wisdom we should ask God and He will freely give it to us. But what I love about this verse and what stood out to me the most was the part that says, "who gives generously to all without finding fault". Trials lead some to think that their suffering is punishment for wrongdoing. Even our family and friends may add to this impression by implying that we may deserve the suffering we are experiencing and when compounded by the weariness of the trial; it can wear us down. Sometimes the trials we are experiencing is the result of poor decisions, but not all trials are corrective punishment. We need discerning wisdom to know the difference. That's why this verse stood out to me. God will give us the wisdom we need without finding fault. When we approach God, we can ask for wisdom with full assurance that He will provide it. Because of God's character He is a generous giver of wisdom; He won't belittle those who need it. He will not keep wisdom from believers who ask without unwavering faith.  So ask without doubting. He is faithful. For if we ask and doubt, Scripture tells us we are like the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. We should not expect to receive anything from the Lord because we are double-minded and unstable in all we do. (James 1:6-8)

Lord, we come to you today with unwavering faith. We ask that you give us the wisdom we need to face the trials in our life right now. Without you we are lost. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for all of humanity. It is by his stripes we are healed and able to come to you with our requests. In Jesus precious name I pray. Amen.
