Jesus came to redeem those who recognize their spiritual impoverishment and captivity to sin and turn to Him for rescue. He came to bring the day of salvation, which even now continues. For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2).
It is up to the Christian to share the good news of the gospel (Matthew 28:19-20) It is up to the Christian to be the salt of the earth and light to the world (Matt. 5:13-16). One day Jesus will return to bring wrath, but today we proclaim the gospel of salvation to all. Go out today with Christ as your strength and word of life. Share with someone the reason for the hope that is within you (1 Peter 3:15). It is the words of rescue to a dying world.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him (John 3:16-17 NIV).
Lord, I come to you with a humble heart. I am overwhelmed by your goodness and mercy. What words of peace, hope, and joy I find in your word. Words of eternal life for those whom have been called by you. May all that I do reflect your grace that has been poured out on me. May we turn back to you in repentance. Thank you for Jesus Christ who has made it possible to come boldly to you and make request of what we have need of. May our prayer be pleasing to you. May it be a sweet sound to your ears. I pray for those who do not know you as Lord and Savior. I pray that today they would soften their heart and open their eyes for their need for repentance in their life. It is in Jesus name I pray, amen.
